Hi Gordon.

I am up for a dive on Sat or Sunday but Ive no transport this weekend so someone would need to pick me up although am happy to half the fuel costs.

I can meet anyone at Splashsports in Partick.

Kenmore would be great especially if you fancy doing the deep wall straight out from the bay but am easy either way:)

does the wall require a surface swim? and what time were you guys thinking about.?

For future info the wall is straight out in the middle of the first bay and down the mud slope. It is a fair swim out.
It does not start to around 25 metres and continues to 55 metres on the left of the bay. It is sheer and overhanging with lots of ledges.Last year I saw the worlds biggest spider crab at 52 metres-at least 3 ft across and no it was'nt the narks :D

I have had 60 metres just off the cliff face at a high tide as at the foot of the cliff there is a VERY steep slope away to depth. The charts show least depths of 90 metes just yards offshore

Its a cracking dive but it needs proper planning and deep diving workup.
It is very dark on the cliff and there can be a bit of a current on the way down the slope. It is also very easy to get very deep very quickly.

Dare I say it but this is one dive I prefer to do with a buddy. Its just too deep for solo diving.... :o

Sounds excelent, but my experience level is just not up to that kind of dive. My missus/buddy is away for a week from Sat afternoon onwards, im in Hamilton so if your up for something a bit tamer let me know.

If you go in at the right hand side of the first bay and go down to 25 or 30, you will find my gnomes

http://www.gordonmackie.com/scuba_gnomes.htm

keep going with the wall on your right and you get a nice wall with bits and bobs on it. Then you reach the fabled wrecks of Kenmore..getting a bit bashed and ruined but in its day it was the finest collection of underwater cookers, washing machines, hoovers, ironing boards and beds this side of the Thistlegorm!!

If you go in the second bay (other side of the white cottages) and head right..about 16 to 20m you will find the Coatbridge SAC Gnome garden in a nice little ledge

happy diving :-)
