Is anyone interested in evening dives on Tue or Thu this week?

I'm planning on diving Tue + possibly Thu. I have a buddy for Tue & a provisional one for Thu. Would like to go to east coast on at least one of these occasions (maybe both ) if the conditions & buddies are conducive. I'm thinking St Abbs...

Any takers?

My buddy has pulled out for Tuesday evening.

Is anyone available for a dive please? I'll go west, east or even central (Powmill).

Anyone... please... I'll even bring some biccies!

Sorry Charlie, Very short notice for this week ( got dinner date Tuesday eve), but any Mondays/Tuesdays can suit from now on, days and/or evenings and some Wednesday daytimes (I usually stay in EDNA the previous night if going to the West). Thursdays are out, back at work from Wed evening in my pub.

Cheers, DT.

Enjoy your date. :)

Ding & Stewart have been in touch, so I now have a date with them at L Long for tomorrow night. :D

Could do Thursday evening, especially St Abbs as will be at work in Edinburgh and halfway there already.

Great, Mogwai.

I could hopefully be at St Abbs for about 18:30 (traffic permitting).

PM sent.

Finish at 5 on Thursday. Hour and a half should be ample to get to St Abbs hopefully, traffic permitting.

Ding stood us up. :o

Fortunately Stew & Fran completed the threesome.

Great dive: Yarrell's blenny (none ever for me & then 2 in a week!), dogfish & a very friendly conger.

Hi Charlie, Mogwai.
I've managed to free myself up so I think I might just join you tomorrow (first dip in new suit :D )

Never been to St Abbs so where will I meet you?

Here per chance?

Just meet us in the harbour car park in St Abbs. In the evenings it's dead quiet (and you don't need to pay). Drive down the hill into the harbour and park on the left probably as near to the right harbour wall as possible to minimise kit lugging - which will still be quite extreme. Park where the light blue car is at the bottom right of this photo (above "E.1605"):

I'll be in a silver Renault Scenic & will probably be wearing a blue polo shirt with "charlie" stitched on the chest so you shouldn't miss me. I guess that Mogwai will be the furry one who doesn't want to get wet or eat after midnight.

I'll PM you my mobile no.

Here's the weather forecast (http://www.metcheck.com/V40/UK/FREE/today.asp?zipcode=eyemouth): looks OK curently.

Tide times (unfortunately the tide will be out meaning a scramble across the rocks ):
13:42 4.6m
19:49 1.4m

That will be quite a scramble by the way!!
Watch out that the harbour wall is not closed/out of bounds, Peter and I went down one night last year (at low tide too) and the harbour wall was closed. We were there and had our kit so decided to go for Seagull Rock, now that was a scramble!! Didnt get below 6m either but bimbled around for over an hour with lots to see in the kelp.

Are we still doing STABBS on sunday?

mmm... that's slightly worrying :o

do you think that the harbour was closed because of the low tide or was it maybe a bit swelly or getting dark?

I think that I've dived there at low tide before without any restrictions being in place but that was during the daytime.

Hello.
That looks straight forward enough. I'll be leaving dunfermline at 1600 so should be there for 1830

EDIT: Oh and I meant to say I'll be in the dark green Honda Accord Estate (with the hole in the bonnet) either that or look out for a tall dark handsome stranger ;)

forecast looks OK for tonight so I'll see you at the harbour later :)

I think it was abit choppy and getting dark, but if I remember correctly we werent put off by the chop so it couldnt have been that bad. Someone told us that they put that sign up if the harbour master goes home/to the pub and there are no others in the harbour area. I would expect at low tide there will be nobody around as there is no water in the harbour at low tide.

let us know how you get on anyway
