Now, I was told it was a giant stride into the water, not a fijekin leap of faith.

Here's Loudy going for it on our second dive last Friday.

Is that a freeflow - what I don't like about big jumps in? Lots of bubbles after entry.

Only been to Furnace Quarry once. On that occasion another group of divers were jumping in from the same point that Loudy did above and one of them suffered a free-flow/burst hose. End of the dive for him unfortunately.

No thanks not for me i would rather walk into the water, Big jump in means a big climb out.

Loudy your off your head!!!!.

the jump isn't always that big, the water there is very low, probably right on slack.
i usually measure the height off the steel transom beam on the far pier, plenty of day light under it i see.
the exit is easy rusty nuts, you can actually walk in & out from the pebble beach to the left of where the film was shot.
i tend not to jump if i can avoid it as i like my equipment to work, having said that, it just might have been me who showed loudy to do this...:o

I have one of me jumping, but it's not too interesting.
Better luck next time.

if you were holding the camera, filming your face, that would be exciting!

Not my photo, it was posted to my "Diving Scotland" group on flickr and Charlie's photo reminded me of it.

I had to do this to pass the stride entry part of my Sports Diver award. This is a photo of me doing it a year later - I lost my knife during this .....sob sob.

It looked kinda shallow when I went - so I let Chris go first and when he reported neither leg broken I thought it was fine for me!
