Evening dive by 4 of us from Dumbarton Scot SAC on the solstice at Strachur. The divesite guide is already posted.
We parked 20 yards north of the war memorial and made our way down from there. Viz poor in the first 8m but better thereafter - 5m or more. The UW topography is gently shelving sand/shingle occasional larger rocks. Lots of the usual small sealoch life. Lots of flatfish, dogfish (including ones all lined up together) and several thornback rays. Occasional scallops but not enough to call it a scallop dive.
At least a 3 on the midge factor.
Shortbread biscuits.
All in all, a lovely gentle evening dive in flat water.
