Bridge is now there and final connections going in over the next couple of weeks.

Who fancies a night time dip after work during July, PeterM is on is hollibags and I need to get asa many dives in as possible while he's away to wind him up.

Give it a week and I will check the progress, then I can get to Dunbar Harbour for about 1800-1830 midweek.

I'd be interested too. Any time after the first week as I'll be up in Skye.

Even if Dunbar isn't possible, I'd be keen to go to St Abbs: you could show me my first ever wolffish, chris! :D

Boo, hiss, you don't want to go diving while I am away - it won't be any fun and I'll feel left out! :(

Fine - I'll bring back pictures of Catalina Island ad Monterey Bay just to annoy you - if I'm allowed to dive there!

If I can squeeze in a weekend, we could do St abbs too!

Charlie, Regthing, Stewart, Mogwai and any others how does this sound?

A midweek early evening dive at Dunbar Harbour (once the Bridge is in place) then a Sunday down at St Abbs for one boat one shore dive. I will speak to Peter Gibson on Sunday and find out what sunday he has free and how many he needs for it to be worth his while. I would suspect I will need approx 10 divers at £15 each, we could either do a morning shore then an afternoon boat or the other way round. Can I have some numbers and some dates for July?
Sunday 15th or 22nd I can do, midweek would be a wednesday or Thursday.

Once I have some numbers and have spoken to the skipper I will start a new thread for the St Abbs one.

C'mon then?

oh, count me in if it's early July.

I go back to work on the 12th, (although a hone call may be made to HR for an extra week off :o )

Hi Chris,

not a problem for me provided i am not on a 12-8 or 10-6 shift which i dont work to often. Work in Sighthill so as long as i can get along the bypass or through Edinburgh should be ok for 6pm if leaving at 5pm latest, 6.30pm at Dunbar would give even more time to contend with the demon traffic LOL. Work occassionally at the weekend as well but with bit of notice can swap shifts and manage a Sunday at St Abbs if on. More diving the merrier, not getting out at the moment as struggling for a buddy and desperate to get in the water as much as possible.

Cheers
M.

Hi Chris
Mid week is fine for me after 9th July.

St Abbs, I'm good for either the 15th or 22nd.

Sounds good. :)

My current availability:

Evenings in July: all except 11th, 25th, 26th
Weekends in July: all except 1st, 21st

The sooner that we can pencil in dates the better before other things come up.

Thanks again for taking the initiative, chris. This is becoming a habit!

Shore diving StAbbs should suit me.

Any thoughts on a date for the evening Dunbar dive? Any progress with the bridge I wonder?

chris

Just checked and the Bridge isnt due in until 16th July. I propose a wee shore trip to St Abbs maybe. Its only another 20mins or so down the road. I could do Tuesday or Thursday. might need to check the tides though

Wonder if one of the admin type people could move the St Abbs on the 15th posts to a new thread. I will check tides, but I would suggest no matter we get down there early, i.e. before 10am to get parking.
Mogwai, we can meet somwhere to share cars if you want, rather than take two.

Latest Update

The bridge is being assembled in situ at the moment.
They are not sure how long it will take but another couple of weeks would be a good estimate.

We have an email distribution list for "Bridge news" and have added you to the list.

Best regards

André Coner
Director Dunbar Harbour Trust

Latest email on the the bridge from Dunbar Harbour Trust

Although the bridge was made passable for pedestrians visiting the Annual dunbar Lifeboat Fete, further work is required to make the bridge fully operational and it will be a few weeks before full and uninterrupted access is granted to both vehicles and pedestrians. Pedestrian access is possible unless work on the bridge prohibits this.

Only a few more weeks or days then ?
