Its on the outskirts of Crail, there is a dive site guide coming (well as soon as Gord sticks it on CA - I emailed him it earlier on).

Try this link:

Yes, it was quite windy....
Did you find some new pieces of wreckage after the storm??

There are bits and pieces around there that were not there (or were burried) before the winter.

I got an hour in the water yesterday. My suit flooded 10mins into the dive... but I carried on regardless. My whole left arm was soaked by the end. :D

Tell me about it!

I ended up wearing my wife's suit for our boat diving on Sat: I was dry but did have to suffer being slagged for having lots of space in the suit for my man boobs!

Nice photo's. I was looking at a site in Fife Ness on Sunday morning. Drive past Crail Airfield and down towards the golf course. Take a right just before the Golf Course Car Park and head down the road that cuts over the course to where the Caravans are and before where the Coast Guard Watch place is. Is that where you where?. Looks like a good reef there as well.

Shog... that's the place. It used to get sneered at as a dive site because it's only shallow and it gets blown out a lot. But if you get the vis it makes for a cracking dive. You wont go much over 12m depth wise and the vis can sometimes be awful. There's various bits of rusty metal there though and I've heard you can get the odd encounter with seals but it's never happened to me (at least not whilst scuba diving anyway)

Cheers
Nick

p.s. Lars - oooooohhh careful with the DL insults Mr 'I dive on Wednesdays'!!! ;)

gogs have you gotten a new camera by chance? :p

Shog,

There is no precise location for wreckage. It's just scattered all over. Basically follow the reef out keeping it on your right until you're about 4m then head round to the right over the kelp. The reef will always be on your right then and you just follow it round. If you bimble about you will come across the leftovers of a bit of hull which has old lobster creels in it. But theres a prop shaft there and an anchor leaning against a rock plus various other non descript bits of wreckage. It's like a baby intro to wreck diving but there's loads of other little nooks and crannies to poke about in. You wont need a torch for vis but take one to look under the rocks and stuff.

Nick

ps Don't start your dive where you park the car. Walk up to the corner as if you're heading to the navigation light and follow the grass path along 10-15m or so and you'll see the gully. That's where you want to start the dive. Where you end up at the end of the dive is another matter cos if you get lost you will not be the first!

In that case you're a really rubbish diver ... :D

p.s. I lost my DSMB at Fife Ness this morning. Anyone finding it (it has Deep Seeker written on it) please let me know....! I suppose it's not something you should admit to when you're calling your buddy rubbish... so I'll blame Prop Guard instead...

Yes indeed a job well done Admiral Nimmo...

Good job you never came with Deep Seeker and I as perhaps your cameras filter wouldn't have stood up to all that shiny non ferous material!
